Discovering who you are is difficult for anyone.

It's especially difficult for LGBTQ+ Christians navigating the intersections of faith, gender and sexuality. For most of us, this realization begins a difficult process of reconciling our faith identity with our our gender and sexual identities. It may feel that you’re the only person in the world on this journey. Many people who reach out to us for counseling and coaching are filled with so much fear and feel totally alone in the world.

The truth is, you are not alone and in fact, we’ve met with hundred of other people in a similar place to yourself and most of us on the team have walked a similar path to yourself. We are so glad you found us and are excited to meet with you, celebrate the fullness of who you are, and guide you on your path to healing, wholeness and peace.

God loves you, and there is hope!

You deserve counselors, spiritual directors and coaches who fully understand the unique place you find yourself. Most people who reach out to us remark they can’t find a therapist or coach who understands the intersection of faith a sexuality. When working through those themes, it is deeply important to find a professional who understands the nuance and dynamics at play. We can affirm your faith and the dignity of your story, while also walking with you in your journey of transformation, no matter who you are, where you’ve been, or where you’re headed. Whether you’re deconstructing, reconstructing, discovering your identity, starting your first queer relationship, or if you’re feeling unsure of what comes next for you, we are here to help.

MEET our LGBTQ+Christian counselors & coaches: Online faith affirming counseling & coaching

Do you ever wish you could meet with someone who just gets it? It's a rare thing to find a therapist who personally understands the intersections of faith with sexual and gender identity. When most people find us they exclaim with relief "In finding TCC, I've found a needle-in-a-haystack." When you choose a Christian Closet therapist you don't have to chose between someone who gets your faith or sexual orientation. That is why all of our clinicians identify somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum and have done the work of reconciling their faith with that. Take a look at their bios and see which one fits best with your story, or contact us and we’ll help match you with one. Either way, schedule a free consultation with us and we can start your healing journey together.

How to Get Started

THE POWER & CHALLENGES OF COMING OUT

Ok, so you’ve come to accept that you’re gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, trans or queer and you want the people in your life to know who you really are. Congratulations! What a great feeling!

Now comes the hard part of telling people you're coming out:

  • Maybe you know some people in your life are affirming, but it’s still scary to put yourself out there in such a vulnerable way

  • Maybe you know your friends and family will not approve of your decision to live authentically, and you’re scared of losing those relationships

  • Maybe you’re in a mixed orientation marriage and coming out will have a larger impact on those you love

  • Maybe you don’t want to have to come out at all, but don’t know how to move forward with loved ones who think you’re straight or cisgender.

Coming out can feel like a challenging and complex mix of emotions that can be tricky to navigate. It can even be debilitating. But there is power in coming out and owning your narrative. Talking with an objective person in the form of a LGBTQ counselor, therapist or coach can take the coming out process from daunting to empowering.

Our online team of counselors at The Christian Closet are all proudly part of the LGBTQ community themselves while equally identifying as part of the Christian faith.

Connect now with our fully licensed, online team of LGBTQ counselors; all of whom can personally identify with the very real challenges of coming out. Have more questions? Check out our blog forum for commonly asked questions from those in similar situations:
